MHD Effect on the Thermocapillary Silicon Melt Flow in Various Annular Enclosures

چکیده
Abstract To simulate thermocapillary magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) convection in different shallow annular enclosures filled with silicon melt, a 3D numerical approach using an implicit finite volume formulation is used. Radiation emitted upward from the enclosure's free top surface, bottom one heated vertically and subjected to external magnetic field. The steady unsteady MHD flow four ( R = 0.5, 0.6, 0.7, 0.8) field studied. effects of varying gaps, , on hydrothermal wave number azimuthal pattern are obtained. velocity, temperature disturbances, transition oscillatory also depicted. results reveal that: waves m 4, 6 8 observed for 0.6 respectively. Oscillatory flows dominated by 3 found when 0.8. velocity fluctuations at surface decrease as magnitude (Ha) increases, would turn Ha exceeds critical value.

the effect of taftan pozzolan on the compressive strength of concrete in the environmental conditions of oman sea (chabahar port)
cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...
Enhancement of Natural Convection Heat Transfer in Annular Enclosures
Natural convection heat transfer was investigated experimentally in a concentric-cylinders annulus. To enhance the rate of heat transfer, pin fins were installed on the surface of the inner cylinder. Two fin arrangements were employed, namely, staggered and in-line arrangements. The length of the fins varied from 2 to 8 cm and the Rayleigh number Ra changed in the range from 5 x 105 to 5 x 106...
